Sitefinity CMS Project Files
Open up the Sitefinity CMS Project Manager application that you downloaded from the Sitefinity CMS website and then click ‘Create New Project’.
In the ‘Create New Project Wizard’ choose ‘File System’ and select the folder where you want your project files to be extracted. Give the project a name and click ‘next’.
Assuming you haven’t done this before and haven’t already activated any licenses, select ‘New license’ from the next view and click ‘next’.
You have a choice now of using your Sitefinity credentials or a license file to activate the product. If you downloaded the license already from Sitefinity.com then select ‘Use a license file you have downloaded’, click ‘browse’ and select the ‘.lic’ file. Alternatively, enter your Sitefinity.com credentials and click ‘next’.
For the type of installation select licensed, unless you’re a developer in which case you are free to select ‘Free Trial’ which will have all the functionality of a normal installation. The only difference is that with a ‘Free Trial’ installation a message will be rendered occasionally reminding you that you are running a trial version of Sitefinity.
Select the edition that you purchased from the list and click ‘next’.
The next screen confirms the edition of Sitefinity CMS you have selected along with some additional information like the version number.
Once this step is complete, Sitefinity CMS Project Manager would have copied the necessary files to your working folder which completes this part of the process.
In Part 2 we’ll get to work on the next steps to setup Sitefinity CMS 9.2 on Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and IIS 10.
